For some reason I can't explain

Haven't updated in 4 days. Lol. Getting lazier already. I always intend to, but somehow I end up doing other stuff and procrastinating. So this post is gonna be rather long, bear with me k! Lol.

Sigh in 24 short hours I'll be at the airport waiting to board the plane. So sad! Another 4 months or so before I'm back again. Had loads of fun in the last one month, lots of good memories. Definitely gonna miss them. But like I mentioned in my previous post, I'm kinda looking forward to going back too. Ahh why like that??

My teeth hurt quite bad now. Went to get my braces tightened today, and the wires were changed to the damn thick type! Gosh. And I've gotta start wearing rubber bands too. Argh.
We went for ice cream just now during cell at Daily Scoop. Yum yum. I had kahlua and lychee martini. The ice cream did little to alleviate the pain though, lol.
Oh I DIY-ed and upgraded my macbook's RAM this afternoon too! From 1GB to 4GB. Ahh my mac feels a little faster and more responsive. It's not complicated at all, very easy! See macs are very user-friendly!

Met up with Corn on Tuesday to go walk around. We were at Orchard before heading to Vivocity. Singapore is getting really boring, lol. The same old places every time. Nothing much to do, except to walk around shopping centres. I won't miss this place when I go back though. All that I'll miss are the friends and family, food, and home.
Anyway had a dinner with the 04S02 guys at Holland V. At this German place called Baden. Pretty good I would say, the rest wanted to go there cos of the beer. My food wasn't bad too, but it was a HUGE portion. I had their pork knuckles. And that was a "small". Trust me, it was much bigger than it looks here!

There was a large too. Can't imagine how huge it would be, lol. And I must have consumed a lot a lot of fat too cos that piece of meat was super fatty! THICK layer of fat! I tried to remove what I could, but I still ended up eating most of it, haha. I can sense some evil people reading this rejoicing now. We headed to Wala Wala's to hang out for a while after that. Nice music. HAHA we made a dedication to Derrick too. For pangsai-ing us AGAIN! And Beng Hee wrote something along the lines of "who is no longer with us...... this was his favourite song". Sounded as if he died or something! Lol it brought back memories of JC days. The stupid stunts we did and all the talk-cock sessions.

Then on Wednesday met up with Spear 3 guys plus Benedict the extra =p to celebrate Jiahao's birthday. Lol though the birthday boy drank the least of us all. And Benedict got tipsy and started talking rubbish and getting quite erm.. annoying. Someone was still boasting that he had a really high alcohol tolerance before dinner eh. Anyway we went to Timbre, the one at Arts House. The thin-crust pizzas were really nice, and the music was even better. Well at least I enjoyed it, cos it was an acoustic set and they played songs like I'm Yours, You and I Both, Viva la Vida, Apologize, and a whole lot of other nice songs! All the songs that I like.

I got my birthday presents from the 3 of them too, since I won't be around in September. It was very sweet of them. I loved my presents!! Finally the flip-flap I've been looking for, and a nice Adidas hoodie. Thank you so much! Really appreciate it! The flip-flap was for Mr Basil, so that he'll have company, but then oh well he died. I shall wait till my actual birthday before reading the card =D

Yesterday I went for my haircut, before walking around on my own. Went to Sim Lim to get my RAM, then Bras Basah to look for my school books (failed attempt!) and then walked around aimlessly around Raffles City. Met up with the 3 of them again at Siglap after dinner. Aiyoh I'm not gonna drink frappes again! I had a grande green tea frappe and I felt so bloated and sick afterwards. =S

Yeah so that sums up my past few days. See why I don't wanna go back to Melbourne? Hahaaa. I'll really miss the company. Right now I gotta go pack my stuff, my flight's tomorrow night. Good thing I'm not flying alone this time =) When I went to Melbourne in February I was sitting next to a Singh! Aiyoh of all people! Haha! All you Melbourne people, see you really soon! Here we go, another semester of uni!

Have Your way in me

The past 3 days have been great. Time is passing very quickly though.
"Time is tickin, time is tickin, time is tickin away..."

Oh man! Can't believe that song actually came to my mind =.= Anyway, in just 6 days, I'll be on a plane making my way back down under. Having mixed feelings about it. For the past 3 weeks I've been really looking forward to returning, now I'm only 6 days away and I'm starting to have these mixed feelings. Whyyy?

Enjoyed myself today =) Had a yummy lunch with a some platoon 2 buddies, and then met up with Ben, Jeth and KY. The first time we all met up after coming back from Vietnam. Well the purpose was to get each others' birthday presents. We were quite sian of sneakily meeting up separately in 2s/3s to get the other person's present, so we figured it would make much more sense if we just all went out together to choose our presents. But then again, we might as well just go and slurge and get ourselves what we want instead of worrying about 3 other people. Haha oh well, it's the thought that counts right?

Aiyoh it's getting quite warm. Tonight's already much cooler than the previous nights, in fact I've survived since I got back just now without the air-con. But it's still very warm I can't take it no more! Eh wait ah let me turn on the air-con first.
Haha ok i'm done.

Sermon on Sunday was about marketplace ministry. That our work is our ministry, and we should work to minister. Which kinda got me thinking. I'm just an ordinary student going about my daily life, minding my own business. But we're placed where we are by God so that we can be used by Him for His purposes. Not just to go to church on Sundays and attend cell group. Yep. So this is something I hope to be able to change this coming semester. I want to be used by God to be a blessing and make a difference.

Why did I fall for you

Hahaha little sister was high today. From the moment I picked her from school she was weird! So I was in my own room doing my stuff, and look what happened!
Lol she was desperate to make me watch one of her, erm, gay korean videos again! Hahaa anyway it was so loud that I could hear her MSN go "te-de-deh" when I replied.

After cell at Nan Hua, which was not really cell, we went to JT's house to hide to give him a birthday surprise before he got home. Just a simple affair. It didn't involve any pots and pans, or red samsonite suitcases =p Hehe nice memories ya. Well there was only an oreo cheesecake. But still nice nonetheless!

One more week!

You've got it all

Melbourne Uni's timetable system is so annoying! Ah but anyway at least we get to plan our own timetables so we can all be together. Which may not be a very good thing, cos we'll all talk amongst ourselves and not really talk to the rest, just like econs last sem. But oh well I'd rather attend tutorials with a friend, so I won't feel so lonely.

Spent quite a lot of time just now making calls with my Aussie line. Well more specifically to one person, haha. =p My credits are expiring soon, and I've got too many credits so I can't top up. Guess what, when I finally did want to top up, I couldn't I can only do so from 7am to 10pm. Grrr! There goes my credits!

Just over a week before I return to Melbourne! Still several things I need to do:
1. Upgrade Macbook RAM to 4GB. It's quite laggy now =S
2. Buy stationery and refils! A G2 costs 5 flippin' AUD!
3. Another haircut before I get back.
4. Shopping! Before GSS finally ends. Haven't bought much stuff. Supposed to get a winter jacket too. Since like March? Lol and I still haven't found one.
5. Downloads! Hahaa I'm in the process. Takes time you know. Lots of movies and TV shows to bring back to Melbourne =)
Hmm anything else I missed out?

Freedom within, freedom without

To all concerned people, no I'm not in love with anybody! Really! Lol. I got asked so many times over MSN! They're just some random song lyrics k, relax. =) And stop asking already!

Shopping for birthday presents can be such a pain! In fact shopping for myself is already quite exasperating with me being so fickle-minded, can you imagine me shopping for others' presents? Everyone should come up with a birthday wishlist! Haha!

Anyway Magicbox was a stunning show! It was my first time inside Esplanade theatre too. Everything was fantastic and all the different elements were very well put together! The illusions, dancing, music, props, storyline etc... Although the storyline was familiar and predictable (from the Magic of Love), and some the illusions were used before, the show was a huge improvement from Magic of Love, which was already very good! Some of the tricks were really very impressive and got me going WOW! It felt very professional and well pieced together, definitely of international standard. If you get the chance to watch the show before it closes on July 20, go watch it!!

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

I'm getting quite lazy to update my blog, haha. My posts are getting shorter.

Anyway my weekend wasn't too bad! Yesterday was a "me, myself and I day", quoting from Shiyou. You know, doing face mask, body scrub, with cucumber slices on my eyes and listening to my iPod. HAHA, joking. Quite tiring going out everyday, so I decided to stay home and spend time with family, which is why I'm back in Singapore.

Stepped into Max Pavilion for the first time since February! Felt good to be back in my home church. Everything felt so nice and familiar even though I was absent for so long. I wasn't feeling too good though, was sneezing away =S Bervyn was amazed that I finished a whole pack of Haribo gummies, lol.

And and, on the way home in the MRT, we saw something quite disturbing. 2 bangla couples! Yes, not 1, but TWO! And they weren't being discrete at all. One had his arms round the other's neck and waist. Then the other couple had their heads on each other's shoulders. Gosh really disgusting!

Gonna watch Magicbox on Tuesday, looking forward to it!

There's no need to complicate

Got back my results today! Some people actually got theirs last night cos they "ordered" it. I did the same too but it didn't seem to work. So after refreshing my email every 5 minutes, i got fed up and went to bed. Lol. Checked again this morning before leaving the house. And I got a pleasant surprise! 1 H1, 2 H2As and a H2B. I'm not trying to be humble and all, but I seriously did not expect such good grades! Well they're not exactly excellent, but I'm very satisfied! In fact I was preparing for the worst for accounting, cos I screwed up my paper quite bad. Must have been something supernatural! I was telling God that no matter what crap results I get, I'd still thank Him. All glory to God!

I'm finally out of

Yay! Helped out with BB yesterday afternoon, then went out with Melbourne friends again last night! We had such a great time! Lol. I clocked a total of 130km of driving yesterday! At 10.5l per 100km according to the display, so that means erm 13.65l of petrol. =S

I'm actually feeling quite bad. All I've been doing is going out and enjoying myself. Haven't really been doing anything productive, or beneficial to others, unless BB yesterday counts. So that means I've been quite self-centred? Feeling a little guilty about it actually. Just being a useless bum and spending money. =S

Can't wait to go back to Melbourne. I know I couldn't wait to come back home when I was there, but now I wanna go back there. Weird I know. Well at least studying's doing something productive right? Back here, it's like I wake up and lunch is almost ready. Don't have to worry about meals or cleaning up the house.
And I miss all you people back there!

Oh well. 2 more weeks and I'll be back there =)
Meanwhile here are some more photos from Vietnam.

Keep me where the light is

Hello everyone! Yay I'm back from Vietnam! It was such an awesome trip! Rather short though, only 4 days. A short and cheap getaway with Ben, Jeth and Kok Yong. All in, we spent less than S$300 each, including the airfare! The food there was dirt cheap, and super yummy too! Really grateful to Ben's dad, who let us put up at his huge apartment, and getting his driver to send us all over hunting for nice food and to sightsee!
Ho Chin Minh City is so different from Singapore! The streets are swarmed with motorcycles, and traffic rules there don't seem to exist. Lol imagine a major cross junction with no traffic signals. Yes it was that bad. Really really scary to drive there.
I must say it was a really enjoyabe trip, with 3 great buddies. It was a good get-together again, after 5 months, with me in Melbourne and Ben in Perth.

And oh! I'm so nice right, so I bought coffee beans for mum! But guess what, turns out they are pangsai coffee beans! Yes, pangsai! The lady at the market let me smell all the different variety of beans, and these weasel beans stood out because they were much stronger and more fragrant. And more expensive too. So I decided to get them for mum. Lol but guess what, they are actually from this animal called the civet cat, who eats the coffee beans and then excretes them cos they can't be digested. It's apparently supposed to make the coffee beans more fragrant. LOL. So I don't think mum's gonna be using those beans.

Anyway here are some photos! Ben was so free and uploaded ALL the photos I took onto his Facebook. I'm just gonna upload a few.
The best pho in HCM city!

LOL

Super yummy Vietnamese coffee! Costs 8000VND, about S$0.70.

Yummy! :p

Yeah free fallin'

Yay! Had another awesome day! I'm so excited, can't wait to go to Vietnam in a few hours! It's like 2am already, my flight is at 7.25am, and I still haven't packed my stuff!

Attended cell group at JT's house after more than 5 months! It was really nice to see everyone again. Gosh I really missed cell group on Friday nights, with JT leading worship, and the deep insightful teachings.

Went to Island Creamery for a short while after that to catch up with some of them, then had to rush to East Coast Park hawker centre to meet up with all the Melbourne friends. We had a yummylicious spread of food! And Shiyou called just as we were about to start eating, so she had the honour of saying grace for us. Lol it was quite funny, cos we put her on speaker phone and all of us gathered around the phone. Cool eh, saying grace for us 7000+ km away back in Melbourne!
Hello Shiyou! Let me repeat what we had ok? There was or-lua, sambal stingray, lots of satay, bbq chicken wings, sugar cane juice and indian rojak! Hmm did I miss out anything? :p Call us again on Wednesday night ok? :p

Oh oh John Mayer has a new album out! It's entitled "Where the Light Is". Great stuff! It's a live concert recording, and has acoustic versions of many of his old songs, plus a few new ones.

Nothing is impossible for You

Whee the past few days have been fantabulous!
1. Meals with my whole family =)
1. Met up with Grace, Fel, Carmen and Hon, and then Diane and Sharon joined us later.
2. Finally got to see Jeth, Kok Yong and Ben after so long!
3. Nice catch up session with JT.

Had a haircut too, finally! A much needed one! Though a lot of people that I met said "Huh, you cut your hair ah?". Lol. Mum and dad thought i wasted money. Oh well, but I like my new haircut. And anyway, I'll be going back for another haircut before returning to Aussieland.

Check us out: enokimushroom, koreangirl92 and me! =p

Yayness! Meeting Corn tmr, and supper with Melbourne pig-out buddy, Yaoqi! Hahaha :p
Looking forward to my Vietnam trip this Saturday with Jeth, Ben and KY!

Meanwhile here's a really inspiring video. It's "Healer" by Mike Gugliemucci, performed at Hillsongs. A truly amazing testimony. In video you can see Mike performing with an oxygen tank! God bless him, and may he be healed completely! He's gonna be speaking at the Revolution Conference at Richmond AOG, but sigh, I won't be back in time =( Boo.
