Beyond a shadow of a doubt

Hello hello! Yes here are the photos from brunch on Saturday :) Still trying out CS3, comments and feedback are most welcome!

Breakfast was an this place called Auction Rooms in North Melbourne. Good stuff!

Coffeecoffeecoffee! That huge-ass thing on the right is some bean grinder or roaster. Done fresh at the cafe!

Pretty latte art! Someday I'll be able to do that :)

Chai latte with soy milk. Aka expensive algae. Haha kidding!

Shady deal - fried eggs with onion, chilli, garlic, spices, lemon and fresh mint on house-made flat bread. Sophisticated prata!

What I had: Counter bid - poached eggs, avocado and soft ricotta, on toasted sourdough with mint and chilli. Yummy stuff.

Lol.

Hello Mr Hoh!

It's the time of the year that houseflies are starting to spawn and infest Melbourne. Apparently it'll get much worse in Nov and Dec :( Eww.

More than I need

I had a haircut today, and I don't think it turned out too good. I don't like getting my hair cut in Melbourne. I wanna go back to my regular place at Sunshine Plaza!
The past couple of times I've tried different salons here. I chose the one today cos there was a nice display of Tigi Bedhead products at the shop. What a lame reason rig
ht, lol. Well, good products, but so-so haircut. So the end result was bad.

Dinner today was at Grill'd! Kern had one-for-one vouchers so dinner was worth it! I wasn't feeling too hungry and my tooth was hurting, but I still managed to finish the gi-normous burger, lol.

I have a reason to sing

What a miserable sneezy day. Had a nasty cold again today. My nose looks really red now, hope this stupid cold clears up when I wake up tomorrow!

Exams are drawing nearer and nearer. Scary, they are less than 3 weeks away and I don't even feel prepared. All surrendered to God, so I shall just make use of whatever time I have and not worry :) Need to make more efficient use of my time cos I'm terrible at that. Funny how so many people think I'm smart, which I disagree with.

Happy graduation and early birthday to Wei Ying :) And to Jason as well!

He's got the jones, He makes no bones

I love my coffee machine. Thank you everyone who bought it for me :) The coffee sorta kept me going last week, my assignment hell week. I think it has spoilt me too, cos I don't wanna go back to drinking 3-in-1 and brewed coffee.

And the aroma of the freshly ground coffee beans is... ahhhh... very satisfying. It's the nicest smell God could ever create. Pastor Russell preached about worship - the sound of heaven on earth. I reckon coffee is the smell of heaven on earth! Lol.

I'm till trying to perfect my latte. I think I'm almost there with the steaming of the milk, only the expresso shot that is still inconsistent. And I wanna learn to make cool latte art!
Everyone's welcome to be my guinea pig, come drop by my room to try out my coffee if you haven't :)
I used to buy 1 litre of milk at a time, and had to throw away some cos I could not finish all of it before it expired. Now I think it's like 2 litres every 4 or 5 days. Amazing eh.
Anyone wanna go for a barista course with me in November after the exams?

Would anyone kindly offer to give me a Photoshop CS3 crash course too? Hahaha. Looks so complicated and difficult to use.

All the roads we have to walk are winding

The new Macs are out! And they are simply stunning, I want one right now! Haha. Now my Macbook looks so outdated. It's only 10 months old so I can't get a new one anytime soon. It has so many cool new features! The buttonless glass multitouch trackpad, the instant on LED display, the new graphics chip, aiyoh the list goes on.... And it's thinner and lighter than the old one too. I want one! Or even better, a Macbook Pro. I can continue dreaming, lol.

Anyway this is such a random post.
I planted an onion in Mr Basil's grave. Lol. Well not really cos it was left in my cupboard for so long that it started mutating, so i decided to transfer it over. I have a bad feeling it won't survive long.

As should be able to tell by now I'm hopeless with plants. All 3 pots of plants I've owned have died. Well at least I know there are still these:
HAHA. And you know what. I think I might have killed them too. Cos they have stopped flapping already :( WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME??

It started out as a feeling

I'm having a terrible cold today and it's really bugging me. And my dustbin is full of tissue paper :S

Well anyway this weekend was a great one! I'm feeling a little guilt from not getting any work done, lol. Yesterday was a totally random unplanned day at Chapel St. with Shiyou, and lunch at a really nice cafe, St Ali's.
Today was the church album recording, which was nice :) The songs are awesome! But gotta wait several months before the album is released though. And then we went to Ikea for lunch and walk around a bit. Ikea's one place I'll never get sick of, haha. Every time I'll find something to get. Bought a new lamp for my desk today.

And on a random note, the photos look bad after I upload them to blogger. It's like the colour becomes washed out and slightly faded.

Anyway these photos were taken when we went to Mount Dandenongs. It was the Tesselaar Tulip Festival, which explains all the tulips. A really pretty sight! Though it might sound strange coming froma guy, haha.

The way you keep your distance

Assignment hell week's finally over. All 4 subjects had assignments due this week! Never slept so little in my whole life before; only 14 hours in 4 days. Strangely though I still didn't feel too tired. Well no more 5.30am nights, heh. I drank so much coffee in the past week that its not even funny!
Exams are drawing near, only a month away. I feel so unprepared :S Term has passed so quickly.

Photos from Great Ocean Road roadtrip! :D

The road trip was awesome! Won't be without the awesome company :) Would have fallen asleep driving without them, haha.
I had lots of fun driving, hehe. Especially since it was a manual car! So much more fun than an automatic, especially along the country roads. In the city it can be a pain though, hahaha. I still owe 20 pushups :p
Oh and they gave us a new car too, and we abused it on its first day, lol. It had only 2 km on the odometer when it was collected, meaning it was a brand new car. When we returned the car, it had 605 km. Yes so that means we drove 603 km in a day! Amazing how Tim and I lasted driving the whole day.
We must go on another road trip someday!

Maybe someday, someway, somehow, sometime

Happy birthday sister! May you find your ideal hot Korean boyfriend soon! :)

Singapore Day was fun! Lots of great food, and awesome company. And the food was FREE! Entry was FREE too! The Singapore government's never so generous. Hidden agenda of trying to get Singaporeans to go back. If not Singapore might soon become a province of China!

Volunteering wasn't too bad, my job was just check names on an Excel spreadsheet, together with Shiyou and Diane. It was kinda messy though, lol. The event was really packed. So many Singaporeans in Melbourne! More than 6,000 people turned up I reckon, cos there were only 6,000 goodie bags and they ran out so quickly! I didn't manage to get my departure bag! There goes my kaya, vouchers and curry paste. Hahaha. Maybe it's cos half of the people who looked Singaporean were actually Malaysians. Stealing our taxpayers' money! Like Wei Xiong the flying man here, lol.

I thought this looked rather gay, lol. 2 men sharing an umbrella under the sun :p

Electrico!!

So crowded!

The event ended rather early, nothing unusual since we're in Australia right, lol. Security started chasing us out even before 5pm.
It was a great day! Nice dinner at Sharon's house after that.

Booo. It's back to essaying. Most definitely certain I'm gonna watch sunrise again tmr. Sigh. Global politics.
And because of daylight savings, Melbourne is now 3 hours ahead of Singapore! So I lost an hour of sleep last night, 1 hour vanished just like that!
