So how do you do

Hello! I am finally posting after MIA-ing for a whole week. All's good :) But BORING. I think I'll be in the library every day this week to complete my much dreaded assignments. Evilspawns, as sis calls them. 4 major ones due next week, gosh. So this is a short update from the Baillieu library. Stupid BPA essay, which I am going nowhere with right now.

Such a drastic change from last week, cos it was so much fun. Hanging out at Chapel St on Monday, a road trip to Mt Dandenongs and the tulip festival on Tuesday, promoting 10-fifteen on Wednesday, and yes the Great Ocean Road road trip on Thursday! So much stuff that I'm having trouble recalling what I did. Oh yes, 10-fifteen on Saturday, and Wei Xiong's Lala party on Sunday.

Sigh, it's back to reality this week. I'll post photos of last week soon!

Let's forget we're running out of time

Photos from today :)
Lunch was so good! And only $12 for the mains for weekday lunch! There was risotto pollo, linguine pescatore, sticky date pudding and vanilla bean panacotta with raspberry sauce. Yummy :p
We were stuck at Chapel Street cos of the miserable rain, lol and ended up watching a rather lame show, Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. Hahaha. It was entertaining though! As usual, I dozed off a couple of times and Yaoqi had to wake me up. With the ice-cold drink, lol.
We still had great fun today even though the weather was crap :)

Spring break has started!
It's gonna be a busy one though, how wish it was spring break minus assignments.

As usual, another great birthday cos September is the month of awesome birthdays :D
Happy 18th Carmen!
Check out the the entourage of photographers! :p

Some other shots, still experimenting with my new camera.

Dream of ways to throw it all away

Yesterday was great fun! Shopping with BFF! :D Thank you for being so nice and following me, you're the bestest Shiyou :p
Though I think I might have spent too much money on shopping, lol. The usual me wouldn't have bought those stuff, but since it was my birthday week I was feeling more generous than usual.
I bought my first pair of skinnies, hehe. And had a much needed haircut as well.

And the weather was really weird yesterday. The sky was overcast pretty much the whole day, yet it was quite warm. So warm that someone kept whining about wanting to go home to shower :p
Then suddenly at around 5pm it started hailing! Hailing on a hot day! Well I had my camera with me. Was a little slow but still managed to capture a couple of shots.

quite warm too. So warm that someone kept whining about wanting to go home to shower. But the strange thing was that it hailed at around 5pm while we were at Boost along Lygon. Hailing on a hot day! I had my camera with me, hehe. I was a little low but still managed to capture a couple of shots.

And wretched College Square is increasing rent next year. By a huge amount! My room rent's gonna increase by $250 a month!! Horrible!!

I wish I could follow you

Wow. I'm finally 21. Supposedly a very significant milestone. But I think everyone else was more excited about it than I was, lol.
Thank you to everyone who made it such a wonderful and unforgettable one!

My mudpie turned out okay, from the comments. Heh. The oreo base was a little too hard though, but still not bad for a first time!

Hello guys! I haven't forgotten about the card. Thank you very much too!
Miss you guys heaps, can't wait for all of us to hang out together again.
Meanwhile, happy shopping and continue to 'support the economy'! :D

You're not that far

Alvin passed me this set of 35-135mm lenses to me to use. They're really really old, and to zoom you don't rotate the ring, but you pull it in and out. Retro stuff. Thanks a lot Alvin! :D

Woke up early (by my standards at least) today and had brunch with Diane, Val, and Fel joined us later. My first time going to Rathedown Village, heh. It's such a nice and pleasant place. Sorta like stuck in time 20 years ago. Lots of nice cafes and bookshops and other random stuff. Gotta go back to try the other cafes too, hehe.

And brunch was at this little nice cafe. Can't remember the name, but it was the one next to the bookshop! I had pizza with proscuitto, cherry tomatoes, ricotta, capers, lemon juice and rocket. Rocket's my favourite salad! Yum yum. The rest had baked organic free-range eggs with proscuitto, cherry tomatoes & asiago cheese, served with rocket and fresh panini bread. Feeling hungry already? :p

Lol why is Diane so happy. Maybe she finds the jam funny :p.

While at the ERC library today with Tim and Kern, we discovered they had a kids section. How cool is that?? They've even got stuff like games, and some were really old. But ya, I saw this and had to borrow it, hahaha. Maybe for next week's road trip? Lol wonder how many times we need to replay the CDs before we go mad :p

I'm attempting to make a mudpie as my birthday cake. Something like the one at Island Creamery. Heh hope my experiment goes well. Bought the stuff from Safeway just now. I'll post photos when I'm done :) Lol wish me luck, and give me tips if you've got any!

Blowing through my mind

I got fooled 2 days in a row!! I'm too gullible and I think I trust my friends too much already! Hahahaa. There were so many tell-tale signs, but no I chose to trust and believe my friends. See it was supposed to be dinner with just Tim at St. Kilda's. But suddenly the venue got changed to somewhere in North Melbourne, cos in Tim words, "St. Kilda's very cold. I'm scared of the cold." ??!! OK nvm, it's Tim and he won't harm me right, lol. And the coverup story used was that Shiyou was cooking dinner. TWICE in a week?? Thrice including the lamb shank day?! Right. Then there was Piaks and Debs who let some stuff slip, but I was too blur too. Lol somehow everyone disappeared and then reappeared at the restaurant when Tim and I walked in.
But it was really a pleasant surprise, thank you to everyone who made it such a wonderful night! The restaurant was somewhere in North Melbourne, along Levisson Street (don't know the spelling). The food was awesome! Both the mains and dessert. Really grateful to everyone that was there! Oh and the cake was special too, haha. It's sorta made up of chocolate-coated mini cream puffs, so the cake doesn't need to be cut. Just eat with your fingers. The photos are all with Tim and I must get them from him! Man those prime lenses take superb photos, gotta get my hands on one of those. Well anyway, some of them saw a rather, erm, different side of me. Hahahaa!

So after dinner we trammed to South Melbourne, in search of a place to surprise Debs this time. Turned out that there was nothing much there, so we went back to towards the city along the Yarra River. Anyway to cut the long story short, we surprised Debs from the back! Hahaa! She was quite shocked and took a while to recover, hahaha. Unlike me; my emotions aren't really that huge. More photo-taking again before heading back.

Today was a nice chill-out day! Lol both lunch and dinner were so yummy. We celebrated mid-autumn festival at Carlton Gardens. It was Deb's birthday surprise too! Hahaha. She got a pair of white laceless Converse shoes, signed by all of us. How cool right! We took photos for 10-fifteen too. Rather tiring and sian doing the same thing over, but the results were good I must say. This post hasn't got much photos cos I didn't bring my camera out today and yesterday, figured everyone else would have better lenses, tripods and flashes, so there wasn't a point in bringing mine, lol.

And I must say the coffee I've so far ha beens really good. It's not perfect, but still tastes very nice. Credit goes to the coffee beans from the market, that were freshly grounded when I bought them. Can't get the milk froth to be as creamy and nice as the cafes do it, but nonetheless still tastes awesome cos the of the beans. The coffee's not acidic and so fragrant! Must perfect my barista skills :D

These few days have been great. Feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by so many awesome friends. Thanks all of you guys, for being there, and for making the past couple of days so enjoyable. Really appreciate it :)
Well it's back to reality tomorrow, my stack of work is sitting there begging me to give it some attention. Hahaha. Must be missing me huh. Lol whatever it's time to sleep.

Gonna soak up the sun

Another week of school over, one week more to spring break and the road trip!
And another wave of assignments are over. Phewww. I can't imagine the next one man. Got 4 assignments due on 8 Oct after the spring break! Including a 50% global politics essay. Gosh.. God help me.

Yesterday was a really tiring day, cos I worked late into the night with HSY (hehe) to complete our ATA assignment! So I only slept for 4.5 hours. And then was out the whole day in school and Smith St shopping, followed by Sanee's dinner.
Somehow I always feel like skipping lectures, but it never happens. Lol. It was really really difficult to get up, and at 7.45am! But the more I start to consider, the less I wanna skip cos if not I'll be lost. And so ya, it never happens. Not unlike what some of you think, that I'm super excited and look forward to going for classes. My attendance record is perfect but I hate going for classes just as much as you do!

September is the month of great birthdays! All awesome people are born in September! Muahhaha! Surprised Jansen 2 nights ago, and had Sanne's birthday dinner just now. It was really good, nice venue and good food.
No point bringing my camera, there were already 3 DLRS there, lol. Plus I'm only using kit lens. Ahhh Alvin poisoned me, now I feel like getting new lenses! Prime 50mm and a wide angle one!

So anyway the drama started when we got home. And I opened the door to find this :D

I was like WOWW!! Hahaa anyway to cut the long long story short the rest of them came of out hiding over to my room. Which was in a MESS. I had no idea at all about this coffee machine, so it totally got caught me by surprise. I think I'm really really blur and I desperately need to do something about it, lol. I didn't realise that my house keys went missing for the whole day. They didn't even have to steal my keys, I just left them behind somewhere absent-mindly. How convenient, and of all times right -.- Lol and I should have sensed something amiss when a huge group came to College Square. When did Alvin and Roy EVER come to CS?!!

But anyway, thanks everyone for the gift! ULU5 & 31 and all the other random people! I really appreciate it! It must have cost quite a fair bit though :S Thanks as well to Diane and Tim who went to buy it! And sorry I was moody yesterday too, I feel quite bad, heh. I wanted to go home to sleep cos I was dead tired, but Tim and Kern insisted that I went to town with them! Yesss so my room could be broken into.

Lol I'll post photos soon of the very first cup of latte I make.

Thanks awesome sister! You're the best, <3 you!

Jansen's surprise :)

Me emo-ing, lol.

Nice photo!

I'm looking for love this time

Assignments assignments assignments.
Heh got my econs one finally submitted :) It was such a pain drawing in all the diagrams on Word. Gosh.

It's spring and spring weather is awesome! Cool how the weather changes so fast in a span of 2 weeks. And to my own amazement, I actually went jogging last Friday. So that makes it a grand total of twice this year. How fit right? Lol.

Anyway the weekend was good. Haha I wanna really thank the Milano lifegroup people for the dinner on Saturday! Lol and the surprise cake for me and Jansen. When they came out with the cake and started singing, I still had no idea it was for me, cos my birthday was still like 11 days away. *HINT HINT* :D But the mocha cake Becky made was really good! Could have passed off as one that was bought. Haha and i snapped 314 photos altogether! Well not all were snapped by me, but that's still a huge amount. Some of them are on facebook :) Spent quite a while uploading them, thanks to the crappy internet.

And I'm getting into this coffee thing. Expensive habit! It only started like this sem. But it doesn't work all the time, cos I still fall asleep in lectures. Lol but heck, cos it tastes good!

I bought 10 LITRES of soft drinks from Safeway cos they were on offer, hahahaa. Thanks to Kern for helping me to carry. Hope I don't turn diabetic, lol. Imagine all the sugar in there.

See the weather was so good, we had lunch at Lincoln Square on Tuesday. :)

Waking up is the hardest part

Yes. Global pol assignment has finally been submitted. Me, Debs and Diane worked through the night until 7 this morning to get it done. Kinda weird feeling, seeing the sunrise as we completed our essays. Aiyoh this assignment has made me hate libraries. Lol not that I ever liked them. Hunting for books, going through them to do research, and being surrounded by millions of books is not a nice feeling.

Oh and those 'Happy Ramadan' things are all over school. What's wrong with those people man.

Won't be long before the next research essay is out, heh. Don't talk to me about anything to do with international relations, and realism in particular, or my brain might just short circuit and I'll collapse right there. Hahaha. And I think I'm still in the essay mood. I'm checking the thesaurus for alternative words to use as I type this entry. =.=

zzz...

Oh Lord we pray that you would restore mx's head....

Anway the weekend wasn't too bad. They launched the third service at church this weekend, and recorded their second live album. An acoustic unplugged one with all the nice old songs :) Can't wait for it to be released! I'm BUYING it, cos I know all of you think I'm gonna just download it, which is so not true!

Ahhh winter is officially over! It's springtime, and the weather's gonna be nice and sunny :) Who likes the miserable, cold and rainy winter days man.
